也。古人視妻若內人，故懼妻云懼內。
宋陳慥，字季常，好賓客，喜畜聲妓，然懼其妻，以其妻凶悍善妒。有詩云：「忽聞河東獅子吼，拄杖落手心茫然。」故懼內又謂季常癖、
季常之懼，而以「河東獅」指悍妻，「河東獅吼」喻其行。
