新約者，
基督教聖契也。曩者神賜約於以色列民，世襲迄今，基督徒則以彌賽亞已臨，藉基督耶穌流血而盟，更立神人之新契，是謂新約。夫基督聖徒皆信，此約成於最後之晷，寓於聖餐之中，遂替舊約，啟恩典之序。
