橡木在野，其聲簌簌。其木實，其枝繁，其葉華。

而榮，百蟲食之。
有蟲
幼者，緣葉而餐，啜汁而飲，謂之尺蠖；葉中有蜂，遺卵於花，謂之癭蜂，以受其卵者，其實為癭。橡之實，栗鼠爭取之，啄木競銜之，備一歲冬。故橡之為木，百物賴矣。
