明太祖朱元璋之年號也，始於公元一三六八年，止於一三九八年，凡卅一年。成祖朱棣稱帝後廢建文年號，易建文四年為洪武三十五年。洪武乃中國一世一元制之始，凡此以降，年號即帝之別稱也，如明太祖亦稱洪武帝。
