瓜洲初為大江中流沙而成之暗礁，隨江之潮汐時隱時現。現於漢
時，因形似瓜，得名瓜布、瓜埠。至晉時出水，為大江中一沙洲，洲上漸有漁村、集鎮。
瓜洲鎮一文似未成。宜善
之。
