聲學者，
物理學之支，而波動學之流也。蓋聲者本乎波動，故凡機械波行三態之中者，皆聲學之畛域也。物理云者，本於格致，俗謂理科。然聲之爲體也易簡，其理燦然。獨其爲用也繁，故𤔲之者多據其理而發其用。是出於理而入於工也。
