臺灣彰化人。西元一九五四年，公帑留學法國，就法蘭克福學院，後至巴黎大學，主修作曲。
越五秋，改編《昨自海上來》詩，而作女高音獨唱曲。適義大利現代音樂學會舉競樂會，遂入選。常惠始事作曲。
