閩語俗謂之米雪，言其粒如米。

凝滯爲雪，陽氣薄之，而不相入，則爲霰。如將大雨雪，始必微溫，雪自上下，遇溫氣而搏，謂之霰，所謂稷雪，義蓋如此。
