五言以來，六朝之謝、陶，唐之陳子昂、韋應物、柳子厚最為近風雅，自餘多以雜體為之。詩之亡久矣！雜體愈備，則去風雅愈遠，其理然也。 近世 蘇子瞻 絕愛陶、柳二家，極其詩之所至，誠亦陶、柳之亞。然評者尚以其能似陶、柳而不能不為風俗所移為可恨耳！夫詩至於子瞻，而且有不能近古之恨，後人無所望矣。乃作《東坡詩雅》目錄一篇。 正大己丑，河南元某書於內鄉劉鄧州光父之東齋。
