盧水胡人沮渠蒙遜仕
段業為張掖太守，
晉安帝隆安元年，蒙遜起兵，推業為涼王，據張掖。
隆安五年，蒙遜殺業，梁中庸等推為使持節、大都督、大將軍、涼州牧、張掖公，改元玄始。
玄始元年自立為河西王，遷姑臧。
義和元年改稱涼王。共在位三十三年，史稱北涼
。子牧犍立六年，復稱河西王，為北魏太武帝所滅。
