康公元年，晉卿趙盾欲廢太子夷皋，立晉襄公庶弟公子雍，遣人往秦迎公子雍，康公遂發兵送公子雍還晉。而晉襄公夫人穆嬴則不許，趙盾遂立太子夷皋，是為靈公。秦師於令狐為晉所阻，秦師敗績，
先蔑與
士會奔秦，史謂令狐之役也。

二年，秦伯伐晉，取其武城，以報令狐之役。

四年，晉人伐秦，取其少梁
。

六年，秦伯伐晉，取其羈馬
。晉師救之，戰於河曲，秦兵大破晉師。晉人畏士會在秦為晉所不利，乃使魏讎餘佯反，以詐術令士會歸之。

十二年，康公薨，其子共公立。
