算盤，算具也。創於北宋
。
算盤
自其始創至今，其制不少變。皆為方框，橫間一梁，以桿串珠，珠可循桿上下。以珠之近梁者示其數，梁以下者，以珠當一，以上，以珠當五，又以桿應數位，自右而左，個、十、百、千、萬……與今之記數法無異。隨手撥珠，便成答數，珠動則數出。初，梁上置珠一，下置四，則每位盈九，以應十進制耳。至明季，梁之上置珠二，下置五，每位盈數十五，蓋以應十六進制之斤兩者也。其質，率多木製，間有五金鑄成。
