龍王山之陰。長三十八公里，為香川縣內至長者。
綾川出龍王山之陰，香川縣高松市盬江町境也。至綾歌郡，有長柄池，合田萬川而折西北向。歷府中湖，於坂出市注於瀨戶內海
。其水切入岩基，河床多花崗岩也。今人營長柄壩蓄水防澇，又供農用。又築府中壩以利實業。故有長柄、府中二浸也。
綾川支流大小凡二十，大者有西長柄川、田萬川、堂谷川、梶羽川、今瀧川、富川諸水。
