漢語音韻學之名，雙音節衍聲複詞也。如「聯綿」即聯綿詞，亦作「連綿」。「玲瓏」「逍遙」「葡萄」，亦聯綿詞。二字不以義綴，所以綴之，惟音而已。聯綿詞惟音是重，故用字不壹，如「望洋」又作「望羊」，曾非遠眺海洋之謂。連語之字，皆上下同義，不可分訓
