腐女之謂，女好斷袖者之愛也。腐者，無所救也，言其耽湎，無能復矣。初，
戲謔之語，毋為敬辭。後人多自諷以稱，遂風行日本，流乎中國，常詞乃作。
緣由
有宗其本，概略如此：
一曰卑妒。修身懿容，佳人所以見眷也，而腐女妒惡之。蓋顧視倜儻、姿儀美甚之夫，頗願近也。然度其身，不可比侔。是故俾陰陽、璞瑕壹同，孰若同美者相愛矣。
二曰異己。或有腐女者，陽女而陰男，衣郎君之服，慕余桃之情，以耽男色也。
三曰防禦。古之女子，莫圖淫焉，男女歡愛，飾惡為慝。然食色常欲，豈有止焉？逮男風之藝文浸盛，其特式瞻，以厭己欲之闕。
四曰逃避。日本言情小說之女角，几近完人，有女讀之，自喟不如。以無女之文代之，以為善也。中國殊之，述良人之佳文既鮮，道龍陽之華辭頗多，故益喜讀視也。
