梵書曰
（天城體作），
大乘佛經之一也。
鳩摩羅什、
玄奘等以漢文譯之。
釋名
般若，智慧也。波羅蜜多，彼岸也。故般若波羅蜜多乃智慧之彼岸，蓋徹知空性之謂也。
心者，要義也。（或有以心爲意識者，謬也。）是故心經之謂，《
大般若波羅蜜多經
》之要義也。
梵名本無「經」字。蓋其本爲《大般若經》之陀羅尼，非佛經也。
漢地之人混淆，乃謂曰經，因傳訛至今。
