莽應里初為王子，嘗於隴川人
岳鳳私結頗密。及莽應里正位，岳鳳日重。時，
木邦罕拔亦盛，為莽應里所忌，執殺之。莽應里遣弟襲木邦，而罕拔子罕鳳、
耿馬土司罕虔與岳鳳相通，欲執拿罕進忠獻莽應里。莽應里之力不及乃父，且初立而害重臣，又數攻明，是以明棄綏靖之策，至於緬甸之敗。莽應里之攻孟廣，蓋自孟密遷至此者罕烘、
思禮等部曲不敵，逃奔隴川，
思仁奔
工回，孟廣遂失。

一五九九年十一月三十日，莽應里薨，子良淵王嗣位。
