穗之南有萬松園，東臨得勝崗，南朝南村、南田。滿清之秋，
伍秉鑑建其園於番禺萬松山，伍秉鑒者誰也？答曰：「十三行大商也。」園名「南海伍氏別墅」。因居萬松山，乃謂之「萬松園」。後世分「萬松園」之「松」以「木」、「公」二字。

斯園夙昔，園內有市，黃髮垂髫，悉為相樂，市肆之人，翕呷炫鬻，殺雞宰豬之聲，觸砧揮刀之律，議價聊發之音，街巷市里，嚮竟以市，今獨得牌坊矣。
史
萬松園，明松林崗地也。清嘉慶八年，伍秉鑑構地宅於萬松山。園有小丘，曰「漱珠崗」也。今萬松園及得勝北之區，是為故園之樞也。
