》作蒲桃，可以造酒。人酺飲之，則醄然而醉，故有是名。其圓者名草龍珠，長者名馬乳葡萄；白者名水晶葡萄，黑者名紫葡萄。
折藤壓之最易生。春月萌苞生葉，頗似括樓葉，而有五尖生鬚，延蔓引數十丈。三月開小花成穗，黃白色，仍連著實，星編珠聚。七八月熟，有紫白二色。西人及太原、平陽皆作葡萄乾，貨之四方。蜀中有綠葡萄，熟時色綠。雲南所出者，大如棗，味尤長。 西邊有瑣瑣葡萄，大如五味子而無核。
