秦末之都尉也。
秦二世二年，二世益遣長史司馬欣、董翳佐章邯擊盜。三年，楚軍夜擊坑秦卒二十余萬人新安城南，獨與章邯、長史欣、都尉翳入秦。
楚義帝元年，
項羽以董翳本勸章邯降楚，立翳為翟王，王上郡，都高奴。八月，漢王劉邦引兵從故道出，襲雍；雍王章邯迎擊漢陳倉。雍兵敗，還走；止，戰好，又敗，走廢丘。漢王遂定雍地，東至咸陽；引兵圍雍王於廢丘，而遣諸將略地。塞王欣、翟王翳皆降漢，以其地為渭南、河上、上郡。漢二年，諸侯皆背漢，復與楚。塞王欣、翟王翳亡降楚
