紂，平天下，封功臣昆弟。於是封管叔鮮於管，封叔度於蔡，二人相紂子武庚祿父，治商遺民。武王崩，
成王少，
周公旦專王室，管叔鮮、蔡叔度疑周公為不利於成王。乃挾武庚以作亂。周公旦承成王命，伐誅武庚，殺叔鮮。而放叔度，遷之，與車十乘、徒七十人。叔度卒，復封其子胡，是為蔡仲
