蔡宣侯，姬姓，諱考父，史記世家作措父，乃周
諸侯蔡
之第十一君。
戴侯之子也。
戴侯十年薨，子措父即位為宣侯。宣侯二十八年，
魯隱公即位。三十年（魯隱公三年），
周平王崩，
桓王立。三十一年（魯隱公四年），
衛
州吁請於宋，將除宋公子馮，蔡會諸侯伐鄭
。秋，復伐鄭。三十五年（魯隱公八年），夏六月，宣侯薨。八月，葬宣侯。子封人即位，是為桓侯
