靈侯之孫也。
平侯八年（魯昭公二十年）薨，
太子朱即位。蔡人出朱，立東國，是為悼侯。悼侯二年（魯昭公二十二年）夏四月，
周景王崩，
王子朝作亂，
悼王居於皇。秋，悼王入於王城。冬十月，悼王崩，
敬王立，居於狄泉。
