蚡冒，羋姓，熊氏，諱眴，乃周

史記
》作霄敖六年薨，子熊眴即位，是為蚡冒。蚡冒十三年，
晉
始亂，以曲沃之故。蚡冒十七年，薨。蚡冒弟熊通弒蚡冒子而代立，是為楚武王
。以蚡冒為霄敖之子也。
《國語鄭語》韋昭註曰「蚡冒，楚季訓之孫，若敖之子熊率」，以蚡冒為若敖之子也。《楚居》作焚冒酓帥，稱「若敖酓義徙居鄀，至焚冒酓帥自鄀徙居焚，至宵敖酓鹿自焚徙居宵」。亦以蚡冒後為霄敖也。
