西洋之龍，惡獸也。

日咸譯之曰龍，然龍固有三：
中華之龍、五印之龍（娜迦）、西洋之龍（獗耿）也。西洋龍，即歐土之龍，亦傳說古物，大力而異能，天飛而穴居，其特異甚明，故中文又譯之獗耿、
巨蠹以避嫌焉。至耶教稱此巨蠹古之蛇也，嘗誘人祖違誡，而當鞫日為神主無匹力擊淪冥間，受永火刑，其意蘊有如此。
