歷史語法學：語言自有其語法結構，其古今之遷易，是斯學所研究；
比較語法學：諸語相親近者，其語法結構有所聯繫，亦有互鑠，是斯學所研究；諸言語聯繫若何，亦研究之畛域；
描寫語法學：詳考某語一時之語法。
