魏明帝命大將軍司馬懿屯長安，督雍、涼二州諸軍事，督車騎將軍曜、
張郃、征蜀護軍戴淩、淮等，得御之。三月，曜同戴淩為懿留精兵四千守上邽，餘眾悉出，西救祁山。亮分兵留攻，自抗懿於上邽。淮、曜等徼亮，亮破之，因大芟刈其麥，與懿遇於上邽之東，斂兵依險，軍不得交，亮引而還。懿尋亮至於鹵城，後曜事佚。
