美，忠祥隨之，入白宮採訪，開中國記者之先，又傳播《動物世界》，頌人與自然讚歌，擁躉眾矣。自八四年主持央視春晚，凡十二年，國人皆知，冠央視名嘴。年花甲，傳緋聞，遂隱退，涉詩畫，亦有成。二年一月，恰七十八誕，因病卒。
