《宋太祖蹴鞠圖》
蹴鞠者，
足球也。《劉向別錄》曰「傳言黃帝所造，本兵勢也。或云起于戰國，記黃帝蹴鞠兵勢也。所以練武士知有才也。今軍無事得使蹴鞠，有書二十五篇。按鞠與毬，同古人蹋蹴以為戲也。」《史記》亦云霍去病穿齊蹴鞠。後蹴鞠傳至西洋，遂成今足球耳。
