逼拶生熱,
物理學事也,其變在能量。古人見之,謂有熱質焉,不生不滅,如液流移。及近代,格致家焦耳氏作,發明功、熱相待之理,奠基功權守恆之說,熱質論於是乎黜矣。蓋此熱也,物動使之然也,物含微塵無量數,其動也靡則,碰擊不定,是生熱。逼拶而動,兩溫同增,而全能不減也。
