道德經，又名老子
。書成春秋年間
。著者不詳。或曰老子出乎函谷時所著，然時久而代遠，終不可考焉。
經分上下，上曰德，下曰道。後人淆其上下，故經名道德。
究其經之本意，無非道者。夫道
者，
天
地同，寰宇一也，然玄妙无端，不可名狀。經曰，道可道，非常道；名可名，非常名。無名天地之始；有名萬物之母。故常無，欲以觀其妙；常有，欲以觀其徼。此兩者，同出而異名，同謂之玄。玄之又玄，眾妙之門。
故自然之道，在陰陽相通；處世之道，在不爭；治國之道，在無為。
道德經遣五千言以闡天下大道，微言大義者，恐天下無其二。
後世道家有經典四，有道德，有南華，有沖虛，有通玄
。以道德居首，蓋彰其尊也。
道德經一文似未成。宜善
之。
