開元五年，文史兼優科及第。開元廿八年，任中書舍人，撰《唐张守珪墓志》。天寶十一載，歷禮部侍郎、轉吏部侍郎。官至河南尹。

安祿山上表獻馬三千匹，選將士六千人。

達奚珣覺安祿山有叛意，上書：「諭祿山以進車馬宜俟至冬，官自給夫，無煩本軍。」天寶十四載，任河南尹，助封常清抗叛軍，加固城郭。十二月十二日，
安禄山军破东都城，李憕和盧奕被殺，達奚珣降。

天寶十五載正月初一，安禄山称帝，封達奚珣為侍中，以張萬頃接河南尹。

至德二載十二月，达奚珣、陈希烈等二百余人被囚受审。十二月二十七日，达奚珣等一十八人受刑於子城西南隅獨柳树下。
