Punctuation options
郁達夫者，浙之富陽人也。生當清末，長於亂世。幼承庭訓，博覽群書，弱冠東渡，留學扶桑。天資穎悟，文采斐然，尤工小說，筆致婉約，常以自敘之體，抒胸中塊壘。時人謂其作沉淪也，如寒潭映月，淒楚動人，開新文學之先聲。
觀其文，多寓家國之思。筆鋒所至，或摹市井悲歡，或寫山河零落，字裡行間，隱見涕痕。嘗有句云：亂離年少無多淚，行李家貧只舊書。而立之年，創創造社，倡浪漫之風，與魯迅諸賢並馳文壇，一時洛陽紙貴。
然時運多舛，倭寇侵華，達夫懷赤子之心，奔走南洋，以筆為戈。詎料寇仇兇頑，竟遭暗害於蘇門答臘，時年四十有九。悲夫！一代才人，未見山河光復，徒留遺文百卷，字字皆血。
蓋其文章，纏綿處似柳七，悲慨處近放翁，而赤誠肝膽，尤有過之，猶覺南屏晚鐘，聲聲在耳。
