》稱「奕通達見理」，然王昶誡子曰：
潁川郭伯益，好尚通達，敏而有知。其為人弘曠不足，輕貴有餘；得其人重之如山，不得其人忽之如草。吾以所知親之昵之，不原兒子為之。
