醴
酒者，含醇
之飲也。古謂醪、酎、醴，今析爲數綱：曰啤酒、
黃酒、
紅酒、
葡萄酒、
燒酒，所含乙醇不等，不及五釐者，或謂之無醇。
萬邦多有酒俗，宴飲交酬，禮樂攸關。若依古制，祭祀亦需飲酒。《禮記·禮運》有言：「夫禮之初，始諸飲食。」酒者，抑性之藥，亂神之物，能滯中樞經脈之動。微酌則生欣樂、釋憂懼、通人情；過飲則致昏聵、喪神、殞命。久服亦成癮，曰酒疾。
