醫士，又云醫師，通曉醫術，
救死扶傷輩也。
又稱醫生
。醫生本義，專精醫學之士。生，尊長之謂，猶云先生。古者又云大夫、
郎中
。
唐朝舊制，設太醫署，兼行醫教之職，猶今醫學院。今華北俗言，猶存「大夫」一詞。
東吳有董奉，通醫道，復以醫德聞。暮年治病，不取一毫，但求癒後植杏山中，名曰「康樂杏」。故凡救死扶傷輩，以杏林美之。
