釋星雲，俗名李國深，
江蘇揚州人，
民國十六年生。幼聰慧，嘗從外祖母茹素，慈悲為懷，年十二，於棲霞寺皈依佛門，法號悟徹。 師長亂世，輾轉流離，矢志向佛不移。
三十八年去
臺，下獄
遭詰，後輾轉苗栗法雲寺，看守山林，著書立說，筆耕不輟，又廣收弟子，奉獻慈善，積年有成。年不惑，變賣資產，創高雄佛光寺，終生弘揚佛法，結交甚廣，著作等身，佈道四海，
民國一百一十二年正月圓寂，享壽九十六。
