重慶市，別稱巴、渝、
江州、恭州，在西南巴蜀，為江、渝二水之匯，古巴國之都也。今為直轄市，特立西南之地，廣四百又七十公里，袤四百又五十公里，合方八萬二千四百公里，口三千八百萬。下轄十九區，廿一縣。
地多山，南北向，西北、中部丘陵、矮山據；東南則大巴、武陵二山相望。亦多水，
長江貫流，嘉陵江、烏江、涪江、綦江、大寧河經焉。
