金封者，
冠婚葬祭之時，所以納錢，用是遺
人者也。或時爲封套，或時折紙而成。
辨名
祝儀袋之例
又以時節各異，而名稱弗同。曰祝儀袋、曰不祝儀袋、曰熨斗袋、曰香典袋、曰慶弔袋等。
日本閭左亦謂之金封紙
。
製作
夫金封，多製以和紙，若奉書、
檀紙之屬。又因受錢者各異，而結繩，如摺以熨斗之形
。
