肇祖孟特穆之孫，
充善之子。興祖福滿之父，景祖覺昌安之祖父，顯祖塔克世之曾祖，太祖努爾哈赤之高祖也。
異說
後世學者稽其事，則錫寶齊篇古、興祖二世皆杜撰也。
孟森考證，
董重羊有子名失保，失保即為《清太祖武皇帝實錄》之石報奇也。石報奇於《清實錄》謂董山之三子，森則謂為董山弟董重羊子，
正德元年為建州左衛都指揮僉事。董山，即充善也。
