Punctuation options
鐃與鈸，原為二物，西戎南蠻之樂器也。後混為一種，以為法事之樂器。
三才圖會曰：「金鐃如火斗，有柄以銅為匡，疏其上，如鈴，中有丸。執其柄而搖之，其聲譊譊然，以止鼓。」杜氏通典曰：「銅缽亦謂之銅盤，出於西戎及南蠻，其圓數寸，隱起如浮漚，貫之以韋，相擊以和樂也。」法華經曰：「琵琶鐃銅鈸。」正字通曰：「鈸蒲活切，音拔，銅鈸今鐃鈸也。」是鐃鈸為一物之本據也。
僧史略曰：「初集鳴鐃鈸，唱佛歌贊。」
