初仕隋，為唐公李淵所親厚。唐公起兵，從秦王累征有功，進左驍衛大將軍，封薛國公。以受賕為有司所劾，

貞觀中，召為澤州刺史
。乃折節為政，以嚴明稱。先時守長多通饋問，順德繩摘無所容。遂為良吏，薨謚襄。
