閩惠宗長子也。繼鵬弒惠宗自立，更名昶
。好巫，陳守元為天師，拜倒薩譚紫霄為正一先生。妖人林興以巫見幸。後興詐覺被殺，昶愈惑亂，立父婢陳春燕為皇后
。募勇士為腹心以自衛，其賜予獨厚於他軍。控鶴都將連重遇以此激怒其軍，迎其叔父延羲立之。延羲遣從子繼業率兵襲康宗及其妻子並殺之。
