閻錫山者，字百川，又字伯川
。
山西五台人也，生於清
光緒九年十月八日。
民國元年，錫山以太原首義功授山西都督，自是柄省政凡三十八載，乃民國藩鎮節帥之冠。錫山既從國民政府，歷內政部長、陸海空軍副總司令、第二戰區司令長官等樞要，晉陸軍一級上將。
卅八年六月，授行政院院長兼國防部長。十二月，錫山率國府各部會播遷臺灣
。翌年三月，
蔣中正復行視事，遂辭。
卌九年五月廿三日，錫山以疾歿於台北，年七十有六。
