闐池南畔
闐池在
柯爾克孜斯坦西北，南接天山
。池水略鹹，
歲寒而不冰
。池水所源，蓋高山泉水，抑積雪融水。水但入池而無以出，所謂內流也。
柯國屬蘇聯時，畫池爲試驗場，以觀魚雷之效。方其時也，外邦人亦不得近焉。
辨名
炎漢時謂之闐池。
唐
稱大清池，亦稱熱海，或咸海
。
岑參詩《熱海行送崔侍御還京》，所言熱海，即是之謂。迨及清朝則
圖斯池、
特穆爾圖淖爾
。後云伊塞克湖
