陽明學，
心學也。肇自有明先儒陽明子王守仁
。其學廣播四海，延及今日，
儒門一宗也。夫心學者，以心爲理，心外無物。陽明曰：「心即理也。天下又有心外之事，心外之理乎？」物事之本之謂心，心中無私之謂得天理。總而言之，是謂純天理之心。陽明以世間萬象，皆於物事求至善，未免有涯追無涯之殆，故曰：至善只是此心純乎天理之極便是。陽明深歎知行剝離，不在一所，知其理而不能踐之，知事愚而不能改之。遂申古人知行合一之說曰：知是行之始。行是知之成。朱子理學多求事之盡善，而心學倡格物以誠，日常之事皆作格物待之。事父母，和六親，治文學，先能矢志於心之至善，而後致之天理，故陽明謂：身之主宰便是心。心之所發便是意。意之本體便是知。意之所在便是物。由此，陽明乃復推凡人爲聖之說，此蓋謂，爲聖人者，雖才量之有差，良莠之有不齊，倘能存乎天理，則人人爲聖也。心學播於四海，
