隋煬帝，姓楊，諱廣，一名英，華陰人，
文帝次子。
仁壽四年即位，在位十四年，用兵域外，廣興土木，築西苑於洛陽，造離宮四十余所，開運河，賦繁役重，四方民變，前後相接。大業十二年南巡江都，無意北歸，十四年為禁軍之將宇文化及等弒殺於宮中，孫皇泰主侗為之上謚
曰明，廟號世祖。從兄唐高祖踐祚，改謚曰煬
