階級，謂民等也。人當草昧，制從公有，階級未興，是為原始社會。待生利日蒸，私產日隆，民即以流判也。有階級鬥爭伴焉，爭而愈烈，親親不足以善群，遂演進而為國家，蛻變為階級之社會。
通功易事，工器與民才日進，則階級之判分亦稍稍而疾。
