（喬治亞語：；俄語：）斯大林嫡子也。西元一九七年三月十八日，生於提比里西省哥里。其母早亡，斯大林悲甚，遂寄之婦家。
二一年，雅可夫年十四，因其舅勸，至莫斯科學，始習俄語。惟斯氏已續弦，得次子瓦西里，遂冷待雅氏，哂之曰：「彼不過一鞋匠矣。」二五年，卒業於一電業學校，為一電工。同年，配梅爾策氏。蓋梅爾策氏乃猶太裔，斯氏甚恨之，更遠雅氏，乃相爭不斷矣。後雅可夫嘗以鎗自決，獲救，其父諷曰：「伊竟射皆不中。」後值第二次世界大戰
