紐約之投資銀行也。一八五零年，亨利雷曼創於蒙哥馬利。初，雷曼氏創商鋪亨利雷曼；逾六年，族弟從之，因易名焉。至二零零七年，富甲一方，與高盛、摩根士丹利、美林合稱四大投資銀行。二零零八年中，受累於次貸，大廈將傾。是年秋，虧欠六千餘億美金，遂破產。並牽動天下國計，商賈不舉，諸業欲潰，民不聊生，至今未盡。
